Max Sacha and baby Tama
Clever Sacha is already getting 8 week old Tama helping out in the kitchen. He's so good at it, he can do it in his sleep!!!
Not that Tama needs any cake. This exclusively breast fed bubba put on 980 grams in 11 days! (No, that is not a typo.) Nearly 1 kg in less than two weeks!!! I'd like to imply that this is due to "Tammy's Revolutionary Breast Feeding Techniques", but I suspect it's more to do with the outstanding job Sacha has done from day one.
I loved being Sacha's doula, she was so motivated and focused, and had a completely natural birth, only using a bit of gas to help with the pain. Outstanding after 36 hours of labour!!! The poor old stress balls will never be the same again though! Congratulations Sacha and Max, he's absolutely beautiful.

Tammy, my "oracle",WOW, what a GREAT decision to have Tammy at the birth of our son, Tama, who was born in June.I was a little hesitant at first thinking, "I'll be fine - everyone else can do it", but now having gone through labour, I can honestly say I don't know what I would've done without her. She was a star! I had such a long labour, and I was tired before I even started (due to my sister having her baby 10 minutes before my first contraction!!), but with my support team consisting of my hubby Max, mum and Tammy, I was able to give birth to a little fatty (9lb, 3oz) almost drug free (bring on the gas!) after 36 hours of contractions (don't worry - not all of these were too bad...we did manage to go to a cafe in the early stages).
Tammy walked me through every contraction, reminding me that it was healthy pain, totally normal, and the best thing possible for my baby. She made me feel proud that I was doing what was best for the baby, even though at one point I wanted some drugs so much a panadol would've done the trick!
I remember Tammy down on her knees, rubbing my tummy, getting me to imagine my cervix opening and my baby moving down. I never thought I would feel so confident and calm. She lit candles, played music, burnt oils (all the "hippie stuff" I never thought would help, but it did!) and I put my total trust in every single word she uttered. I could even hear her voice saying "I'm so proud of you. You're doing so well" once the birth was over and she'd left the room!
I could go on for hours about how wonderful and special Tammy is to us, but if you're reading this and considering having Tammy as your doula, don't hesitate! She's unbelievable, and will always hold a special place in my heart. And I haven't even started on the post-birth help she's given us...
